Comments Traveled with a group of divers with varied experience from professionals to first timers in the ocean. Overall the trip was very good. Fantasy Island is a nice but isolated resort. Taxi's are pricey at $15 to $20 per person round trip to go "into town". Rental cars & scooters have very limited availability. Meals are all buffet style but always a good variety and tasty. Great ice cream and fresh fruits. The lobby area has two computers with internet access and WiFi is also available in the lobby. Skype worked well. Rooms are air conditioned, clean, quiet and I had plenty of hot water. But the biting bugs on the beach are BAD! However the fun monkeys, peacocks, agoutis (aka Watusis), huge iguanas and various geese running lose added to the ambiance.

Diving was good to average. Visibility was not that great. Several days had 3' to 5' chop. Only one DM per boat so you are somewhat allowed to dive your own profile. All dives around 50 minutes and deepest was to Mary's Place at 120 feet. DM Gerardo and boat driver Rocky professional and friendly. Lots of various corals and small fish. Green eels and drums spotted several times. Most dives involved turning around on the site to go back to the boat so you end up diving the site twice. Did a shark dive with Waihuka Adventure Diving and highly recommend it. Shore diving is available to a sunken ship and plane. Did a night dive but did not see anything of interest or hadn't seen during the day. Overall very happy with the trip and diving and would recommend Roatan and Fantasy Island to anyone who has not been there before.

UW Photo Comments There is a separate tub on the boats for cameras but not necessarily marked cameras only. They have a "photo center" and a "video center" but the photo center only appears to offer a limited number of batteries for sale. The video center doubles as a class room and is only a room with chairs and a TV. Visibility was not ideal during our trip.
