Comments Well run hotel and dive operation. Check out their advertisements. Rather remote for a Caribbean resort. Excellent short air hop from Roatan in a plane with some weight restrictions. All baggage handled by resort. Essentially no hassle about Covid related clearances and the Honduran "prechequeo" clearance which was stated to be mandatory, and filled out bay all travelers was never even looked at. I just needed vaccine status documentation and recent negative nasal swab report. Although, I cannot say that won't all change next week.
My assessment is that there was very good food with allowances for all individual requirements. Bar tab was included in our hotel rate. 3 meals a day with cookies and snacks available. Barista starts serving coffee at 06:00. 3 boat dives a day with one scheduled night dive. Afternoon and additional night dives around the hotel any time you would like. These dives are very shallow but allow you to see an immense quantity of macro critters along with octopus and clouds of silversides and other baitfish.
We saw turtles, numerous nurse sharks, every type of Caribbean reef fish including toadfish, eels, Caribbean reef squid, multiple macros of nudibranchs and other small critters and dolphins came by to visit on one dive. Coral was very healthy. Several in group remarked about this. Dive boats (2) are very well designed craft that can carry up to 20 divers. Water temperature was 82F. Visibility varied from 30 feet to well over 100. Some. mild currents at some sites.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful. Rooms very clean. Air conditioned. Daily room service with turn-down service at night. Nice pool. Beautiful view. Hammocks. Exercise room. The dive operation is what I would call concierge. Set up your gear once and they change out cylinders between dives, clean and wash get at night then hang in secured drying shed. Boat has a head and emergency equipment.
Some limitations: The hotel lobby is 47 steps up from the dive dock. The floor above that is a total of 60 steps. Beware if this could be a problem. Do not drink the water (a standard caution). Bottled water is provided. Winter is the rainey season.
