Comments The operation has new ownership by Stuart Scuba. It's located at Phil Foster Park famous for the Blue Heron shore dive. We love diving Blue Heron the day before our offshore dive the following day. FYI over 400 species have been sited and are in the REEF data base at this site. If you haven't been in the water in awhile it's a good way to get acquainted with your gear before going offshore. Note, it's only diveable at high tide for one hour. Free parking at both the beach divec and a couple hundred feet away is Little Deeper dive shop. Back up to the side of the building, unloud your gear and watch the hard working crew wheel it down to their vessel. I love that part. Tell them where you would like to be set up, when the captain arrives and clears everyone to board you have plenty of time to set up your gear. We had 12 on this latest trip and there was plenty of room. Areas can be aft but in the sun or forward under cover right below the bridge. Great vessel with two ladders, fresh fruit, fresh water hose, water, cold drinks all on board. There were two dive masters on the trip. One on deck to help and the other in the water with the dive flag. Our two dives this time were in a ripping current and most got separated from the DM . They insist and will provide you with a safety sausage if you don't have one. Fortunately we did and used it on both dives this day. One dive on the wreck Danny and the other on Yellowtail reef. Too fast to lobster but as a research diver I was able to identify over 30 species on each dive to submit to REEF the next day.,Excellent safety and site briefs although one of their instructors onboard elected to chat with several of the old timers onboard near the stern. Unsat in my professional opinion. Distracting. Captain Steve ran a great vessel and the DM insured you stayed away from the stern as the Captain positioned for pick up. DMs will help you climb the ladder and escort you back to your location. Overall a very well run operation. Oh yes, when you get back the dock the gear is wheeled up to your vehicle while you shower and change in their restrooms. The small but adequate dive shop has the gear you forgot at home both to sell and rent. Travel time to most sites is about 30 min.
