Comments We were 5 divers, two with 35yrs experience, two w/20yrs, and one newly certified 12yo. Sara & I had previously dived Looe Key many times with Underseas, but it had been absorbed by LKDC. After reading reviews we signed up with LKDC, and are really happy we did.

We requested a dive master. Normal dives here are DIY (our preference), but with a new 12yo (and a larger group) I was more comfortable with a dive master in the lead so I could assist (safety first!). Mark turned out to be wonderful, engaging, and very attentive to our newbie and our group.

We had two very relaxed dives, with Mark pointing out all kinds of wildlife. During the second, our 12yo figured out he could sing underwater if he kept his regulator in full purge mode, and Mark handled his going-to-be-out-of-air-soon brilliantly by noting his accelerated bubbling, keeping tabs on his air, and getting him to the surface within reach of the boat. He had us stay on the bottom so he could come back and continue the dive with us. No worries, and afterwards he just said 'that's what 12yo's do'.

Given the recent hurricane, the fish weren't as plentiful as our last dives there (just after Andrew, which hit further north) but the scenery was wonderful and the reef seems to be recovering.

Captain Ron handled everything topside, kept us comfortable by warning us which sides of the boat would get wet when underway, when to hold on in the swells and getting us in and out of the water. He took care of us with wit and panache that made the trip fun.

I'd highly recommend diving with this outfit, especially if you can get these two characters (sorry, professionals).
