Comments Diving can be wonderful here IF you can get out 20 miles or more to the wrecks loaded with tolerant Sand Tiger Sharks. Blown out 3 days and then got twenty miles out before Captain declared it too rough to dive and we came back 10 miles to an inshore wreck and a tugboat. Thankful to just be able to dive on something at last.
Trip arranged by Capt. Mike Gerkin, mike@evolutionunderwater.com, and he gave us some presentations on U/W Photography when we got blown out.
Our accomodations at Bask Hotel were excellent, a 2 BR suite with full kitchen and balcony overlooking the water and dive shop from 6th floor. Great choice of local restaurants.

I dove with them several yrs. ago. Yes the U boats are a couple hr. boat ride so that was a pain. The techie 2 tank diver was the only one that really got the optimal bottom time. Wish I'd known that earlier (dual steels). It was also disconcerting that someone in the group was spearfishing but us not made known to us (maybe far enough away, but blood attracts sharks). Sandtigers amiable. Atlantic Spade fish he shot turned "green" with underwater filtering of colors. Stayed at a nice little Atlantic Beach resort U shaped on the beach. Name eludes me. Not many people get to dive U boats. I also uniquely did the aircraft carrier off Pensacola (USS ORISKANY).
