Comments Five years ago I really blasted Olympus in a review, and for good reason. Well, now they deserve a big attaboy. Our trip to Lake Huron fell apart along with a truck transmission, so we limped back to Ohio, dumped the boat and truck, and headed south. Discovery Diving is a fabulous outfit in Beaufort, N.C., and we always go there, but they were booked. Reluctantly, we called Olympus. The result was five excellent days of diving, outstanding service, totally fair treatment. It was somewhat windy on a couple of occasions and we had to stay inshore, but the captain (Purifoy) asked our opinion about what to do, and agreed to make a run out to some of the offshore wrecks, with the option of turning around. Several people who never had been on U-352 finally got the opportunity because of that. Sharks everywhere, surprisingly on the inshore wrecks more than the offshore stuff. The current was rippin' on the Schurz, and brisk on some of the other wrecks, and we did spend a lot of quality time on the Indra in five days. But we got out every day and never had a bad dive. We used both their big boats, and the crews were excellent. I still love Discovery to death, but I'll never hesitate again to go with Olympus.
