Comments I lived in and dove the Keys in the late 70's and 80's. Best Corals, best fish, I have ever seen. Then came the fall, white coral, algae, green water, It was terrible. Something has happened. The corals in Key Largo are coming back, the algae on the reef is greatly diminished. Visibility was good. Clouds of tropicals, snappers groupers, grunts. Very heartening. Now to the best part. World class wreck diving. We dove the Spiegel Grove, the current was ripping. The boys had all the lines just right. Spectacular Gorilla Diving. Of course once you gained the deck of the ship, and sheltered on the lee side of the current, calm as a swimming pool. Beautiful soft corals, nice variety of fish. Play the current right, and it was a beautiful dive. The next day we dove the Duane, minimal current ,80 viz at the bottom (120'). Gorgeous soft corals, scads of fish, Jacks, schooling cudas, Pompanos, and a rascally Goliath Grouper. The water was a beautiful gulf stream blue. It was such a great dive that my computer went into decompression mode, which shows how enraptured I was with the surroundings. One of the best dives of my life. I can't wait to go back. The crew at Scuba Do are very congenial, very capable, very flexible, and seemed totally committed to our satisfaction.
