Comments four day weekend trip set up with divers from www.rebreatherworld.com web board south east florida club< aka SCRUBS>. They set up group charter with two "two tank" dive trips to spiegel grove, duane and bibb.

flew in fri via jetblue to FLL, hertz rental to Key largo suites at MM 100. rooms were set back from road, took a minute to find. when you are there room was nice, kitchen, liv room w/pullout and a bedroom above. two full bath-could have four or even six w/murphy bed . was across canal from ocean divers dock-i will stay at this place again, glad i found out about it. I ate mainly wendys from just across the overseas highway, three days aint long enough for gourmet anyway.

Silent world was at MM102 i think-just up the road a bit. they are pro's-waivers at shop, asked for cards then placed group on appropriate boats- am new to rebreather diving but no hassels. trip included weights and air, i used the 80 for a bailout tank.

boats are docked next to spencer slates, up the road a bit more. island hopers were ok, usual keys dive boats. benches weren't fully rebreather friendly but extra bungees fixed that quick

Spiegel grove is awesome dive, even better now that its up right. two 90 min bottom times with warm gas on rEvo rebreather. saw lots of fish and had two nice dives. our deal included box lunch which was a tasty wrap from a local sub shop-not a chain. crew was helpful getting in and out. surface was choppy but no big currents.

second day was on the bibb then the duane. in eight years of coming to south fl this was my first dive on the bibb, and a pretty one with schools of atlantic spadefish all over the sideways ship. she lays 120 fsw down on her starboard so penetration is tricky but with the current running it was nice to duck into the lee. hanging was more like NorthEast diving but time passed quickly on CCR. Second dive on the duane was nice, another big school of spadefish had me wishing for my camera. oh well ill just have to come back again.
