Comments I have always looked forward to diving the remote areas between Morro Bay and Monterey. I didn't realize how cold it would be or how poor the viability would be. I have dove the North Coast of California (Bodega Bay to Ft. Bragg) for over 20 years and have never been quite this cold on repetitive dives. The high water temp was 52 degrees with a low of 48. The first dive of the day in a farmer john 7mm wetsuit was fine, but every other dive that day was colder to the point of being no fun. I did some spearfishing but found very few worthy targets. I did spear a 36 inch lingcod and some nice vermillion snappers and olives (9). Most of the divers wore dry suits and I would do the same if I returned for a second trip.

UW Photo Comments Several divers dove strictly to do UWP. The shared some very good pictures with me. Some used dual strobes and others GoPro's with trays and lights. A separate tank of fresh water was available for cameras.
