Special Offer for a Tax-Deductible (At Least Some of It) Cocos Island Trip November 20, 2015
Join the nonprofit Turtle Island Restoration Network (TIRN) for one of its three 2016 dive expeditions to Cocos Island to help scientists study and protect sea turtles and sharks, while enjoying three dives a day. There’s a special 10-day “Earth Day Celebration” trip in April aboard the Sea Hunter, a 12-day trip in August, also aboard the Sea Hunter, and a 10-day trip in November aboard the Argo. TIRN is offering Undercurrent subscribers a free rash guard and a raffle ticket worth $100 for a 1-in-200 chance to win a spot aboard a future trip. Prices start at $6,135, and my accountant would find that much of that is tax-deductible. Visit www.SeaTurtles.org/expeditions/ or contact info@seaturtles.org, and mention Undercurrent.
Undercurrent Could Sure Use Your Help November 20, 2015
We get most of our new subscribers from divers who receive our monthly email list and then decide to subscribe to our issues. You can help us add to our email list by sending us a roster of your dive club members, your dive buddies or even your dive shop customers, as some of our subscriber/shop owners have. We never share any of our names, nor do we indicate how a name gets added to our email list. We find that 99 percent of the people who receive our email love getting updates, and many eventually become subscribers, which helps our ad-free nonprofit newsletter maintain itself. Can you help us out? Send your list to me at BenDDavison@undercurrent.org.

Snorkeling with Crocs in the Mexican Yucatan November 20, 2015
“My latest trip of a lifetime, in theory, was to be a "close-in quickie." I would fly to Cancun with a group of friends, take a van to the small town of Xcalak, near the Mexico-Belize border, then take a dive boat to Chinchorro Banks to overnight in a fisherman's shack, where we were to snorkel with American crocodiles. I wasn't so sure it would happen, but wow, do I now have the open-jaws pictures to prove it." Read our travelin' diver's trip review of snorkeling face-to-face with American crocodiles in the Yucatan, free to view on Undercurrent.
