Continuing Sherwood BC Troubles

Dear Undercurrent,

I purchased an unused Sherwood Luna BC that is about four years old and has never been in the water. On the 4th dive, the lower tank strap separated from the BC, along with a hand full of disintegrated plastic. After further inspection, the upper strap is starting to go. It's a poor design.

Dear Robert,

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. This design defect of Luna and Avid's BCs has been around for several years, and we have written about it several times. Why Sherwood seems to have little interest in changing the design or recalling the faulty BCs is beyond us.
